The BBA, in partnership with the PAIR Project, is hosting an ICE Detention Training Series for attorneys of all experience levels. After attending the overview session and at least one additional training, attorneys can volunteer for a removal defense case with PAIR. More details on volunteer expectations and the series are available here.

Attorneys will be introduced to fear-based relief available to detained noncitizens, including:

  • Asylum
  • Withholding of removal
  • Protection under the Convention Against Torture

This session will also cover the importance of credible fear and reasonable fear interviews, as well as the process for ensuring clients receive screening interviews to pursue protection defenses in immigration court.
