2026 Immigration Defense Training Series: Emerging Challenges in Immigration Practice Today

November 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The BBA, in partnership with the PAIR Project, is hosting a 4-part Immigration Training Series. Click here to see all parts of the series and for more details. This partnership is made possible through the Boston Bar Foundation (BBF).

Emerging Challenges in Immigration Practice Today
This session provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving and urgent challenges facing immigrant communities today, equipping advocates with the context needed to navigate a rapidly shifting legal landscape.

We have seen a seismic shift in immigration law and policy in the U.S, one that targets immigrants, including asylum seekers and those with pending application and status. PAIR/BBA is presenting a 4-part series to empower advocates to meet this moment and to protect immigrant rights. These sessions will give a broad overview of all the extreme challenges immigrant communities are facing: shifts in immigrant law and policy, extreme ICE enforcement, gutting of the immigration court, growing backlogs, surge in federal court battles, and uncertainty in the future of the immigration system.
