Legal Name Changes: A Pro Bono Attorney’s Guide

Community Legal Aid (CLA), Northeast Legal Aid (NLA), the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association, and Gender Identify Validation Services (GIVS), present a nuts-and-bolts training on legal name changes in Massachusetts for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse people. Experienced attorneys will guide you through the legal name change process, including a detailed discussion on how to fill out court forms and other practical considerations to keep in mind. You will also hear about pro bono opportunities at CLA and NLA, who offer name change services. The training is FREE with your commitment to assist with at least one pro bono referral in the coming year. Additional resources and mentorship provided to volunteers.
