This four-week course covers the basic components of effective case management techniques and strategies. Throughout the course, participants will learn best practices in intake procedures; case acceptance and closure; file maintenance; form creation and improvement; and much more.  Participants will also learn about case management database systems, as well as strategies to create an effective case management policies and procedures manual to optimize program efficiency and minimize risk of liability. This course will be presented by CLINIC’s Capacity Building section staff. For a detailed course outline, including the dates and times of the live webinars, click here.

About the Course:
This is an overview of best practices for case management for a charitable legal immigration services program. This course is appropriate for program staff from a wide range of organizations, including established immigration programs, domestic violence and sexual assault service providers, unions, social services providers, and educational programs. The course starts on October 7th with access to the e-learning course website. Once you receive your user name and password you may participate in a variety of activities for self-directed learning including reading assignments, sample materials, and quizzes.  The course will be interactive with opportunities for online and real-time discussion among students and instructors. The course also includes four webinars conducted on consecutive Fridays at 2:00 p.m. Eastern starting on October 7th.  Each webinar lasts approximately 60 minutes and is recorded and posted on the course website after the webinar is conducted.  Although we encourage participants to attend the live webinars each week, you will be able to listen to and view a recording of any webinar you are unable to attend whenever you choose to do so. Course participants will receive a course completion certificate if they (a) attend or view recordings of the weekly course webinar and (b) complete each weekly course quiz.   You have up to two weeks after the last live webinar in the course to meet these requirements.
