This training walks you through the basics of immigration and public benefits rules to help you understand which public benefits are available for specific immigrant populations. It covers any recent changes in Department of Transitional Assistance, MassHealth, Health Insurance Connector, Social Security Administration, and state and federal subsidized housing policy on immigrant eligibility. There is also a brief presentation on current issues affecting immigrants in the state legislature or in Congress. This training is for legal services advocates, lawyers in private practice, social and health services workers, and community advocates. Participants receive detailed materials.
