This training will cover the basics of advocacy in 209A Abuse Prevention proceedings. It will provide an overview of 209A laws and procedures and walk attorneys through preparing for and conducting a 209A hearing. We will also discuss the dynamics of an abusive relationship and provide attorneys with the skills to support survivors of abuse. The trainer is Attorney Lola Remy, who has worked with survivors of domestic violence as an attorney at VLP and Casa Myrna.
