While a patchwork of federal, state, and local eviction protections has managed to stave-off the feared "tsunami" of evictions, more than 10 million tenants are delinquent in rent and many others are still uncertain about their ability to pay rent going forward. Older adult renters face particular housing affordability challenges and high rental cost burdens.
With vaccines now in distribution, it is uncertain how much longer eviction restrictions will remain in effect.

Advocates need to prepare to assist a large number of tenants saddled with arrearages, or tenants who have already been evicted and are seeking to move into new housing despite eviction records or unpaid landlord-tenant debts. This webinar will touch on the main challenges advocates face in helping tenants remain housed throughout the final months of the pandemic, through the expiration of eviction protections, and into the post-pandemic period.
