It is our duty to protect our elders, but how do we protect our elders from disaster scams? The first step you can take is to inform yourself about the types of scams that disproportionally impact older adults and the ways to get help. Please join us on May 21, 2021, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm (ET) for a discussion on the scams that have impacted older adults during the COVID-19 disaster, the scams that typically impact older adults during natural disasters, the ways to avoid these scams, and the resources older adults can seek out once impacted by a disaster scam.
'Protecting Older Adults from Disaster Scams' will include presentations from Lizzie Johnson, Esq. (Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida), Avery Vinson, Esq. (Three Rivers Legal Services), and Kimberly Henderson (Elder Options). The presentation will be moderated by Brianna Williams, Esq. (Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida).
We hope that you will join us. We hope that you will learn something. Most importantly, we hope that you will take this information back to your communities.
