June is Pride Month, an annual celebration to recognize the contributions of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) community and raise awareness of ongoing challenges. Please join the Region 2 National Preparedness Division for webinar on disaster preparedness and response considerations for LGBTQ+ people.
Leighton Jones, Director of Emergency Response and New Initiatives for Direct Relief, will discuss factors that emergency planners and disaster responders should consider to ensure that LGBTQ+ people are included in a community’s response after a disaster. Joseph Hof, FEMA Region 2 Regional Counsel, will speak on how FEMA is prioritizing equity in program development and delivery.
