This training will cover the basics of Summary Process law in landlord/tenant cases and how to represent both landlords and tenants in a Summary Process eviction matter. There are currently up to 200 cases on the Eastern Housing Court docket list each week, with many low-income tenants and landlords going without representation. The information provided in this training will prepare attorneys with the legal knowledge to zealously advocate for low-income tenants and landlords in Summary Process eviction cases.

After attending the training, you’ll be invited to volunteer at the Lawyer for the Day Clinic at the Eastern Housing Court with assistance and mentorship offered through the Volunteer Lawyers Project. You’ll also be able to volunteer with any legal services agency by taking on a full representation case on a pro bono basis.
