Guardianship Report Review Project

Organization: Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association (VLP)

Note: This opportunity will be remote for the foreseeable future.

Assist the Probate and Family Court in reviewing the care plans and annual reports filed by guardians of adults. Your role as a volunteer is to ensure that the guardian has provided the necessary information and to flag issues that may raise concerns about the appropriateness of the guardianship, the conduct of the guardian, or the condition of the person under guardianship.

Reviews occur once per month in courthouses throughout Massachusetts. Volunteers typically work 2-3 hour shifts and often work in pairs. Scheduling is flexible, but we suggest that before you go, you contact the Registry of Probate at the court you're interested in to make sure the reports are ready.

This is a Senior Partners for Justice project.
